Final Presentation

Below are snapshots of the final model for the project.
Material: 2mm Acrylic
Colour: Clear
Support: Suspension
Scale 1:20

Height: 9m
Width: 1.8m

The model expresses the idea of how as sunlight is seen to be shining at dawn, half seen behind a building, rays of light can be observed coming from the source. The model expresses this idea of experiencing being bathed in these sun-rays, while not completely exposed to the light.

The model is suspended by wires, so the model itself does not touch the ground.
When natural sunlight enters the structure, refraction as well as reflection of sun rays would bounce within the model. If the viewer is standing directly under the structure and look up, they would experience glare and bright lighting, almost as if they are facing the sun itself.

The constructed style of the model gives the light rays solidity and form. while utilising heavily on natural sunlight, the structure also expresses its ideas via the shape. The long 'rays' seen fired from the model vertically is a form of expression of the rays seen on the Inspiration Page.
